"Our duty to others means helping others; doing good to the world. Why should we do good to the world: Apparently to help the world, but really to help ourselves."

Project Description

Individuals to Industry (i2i) works towards two most important aspects of an engineer’s career- 'Employability’ and ‘Employment’. It tries to serve as a platform where students gain adequate industry exposure, receive appropriate career guidance and gain information about suitable employment opportunities and job openings.

i2i's Objectives

  • To make students understand Industry Expectations

  • To help students improve their soft skills as well as hard skills

  • To provide guidance on PG opportunities

i2i's Concept

We all are well aware of the existing gap between academics and industry expectations. Keeping this in mind, VSM came up with the concept of i2i wherein we wish to create a healthy interface between individuals and industry.

One of the major initiatives of i2i is CareerGuru. It is a year round activity wherein we conduct seminars about various topics ranging from soft skills, branch-related industry overview to PG courses. These seminars are conducted by successful professionals and highly experienced professors. Our professional karyakarte also tend to address career related doubts of registered candidates through phone or e-mail. We also inform our candidates about suitable job openings in companies and act as an interface for candidate shortlisting process.

We also successfully conducted CareerFest 2012 and 2013. CareerFests were two-day annual events where we had organised a series of seminars, a screening aptitude test, group career counselling sessions and much more for the benefit of students.

i2i's Measure Of Success

  • Qualitative improvement in engineering student's soft skills and hard skills

  • Increased understanding among students regarding industry expectations and standards
