Projects

"All good work has to go through three stages. First comes ridicule, then the stage of opposition and finally comes acceptance."

Swami Vivekanand

Why Projects?

Our lessons in community work were initiated by Swamiji’s above words of wisdom. We do not participate in social action or community work to make a fashion statement. Rather, it is an accepted way of life for us. We believe that we owe our debt to this society, nation and the world and we can work towards its betterment along with fellow youth.

Our projects are inspired by Swamiji’s teaching of “service to humanity is service to god.” All our projects and wings are manifestation of this philosophy. The genesis of several projects is based on one or the other teachings of Swami Vivekananda and is born out of necessities of various communities in which we work.

Our urban projects revolve around the concepts of empowering young students and neighbourhood kids from government schools, contributing to their character development, supporting their overall development and making them contribute for the community. Our volunteers are our ambassadors who get enlightened by the joy of giving and spread it among their families, friends, colleagues and people. They do see an opportunity to build a connect between urban landscape as well as rural hinterland.

Our rural projects revolve around the concepts of empowering rural kids by imparting them quality education, improving employability quotient of the youth, organizing women self-help groups and supporting their small businesses and help improve livelihood options for them. We have been working in the villages since our inception and enjoy connecting ‘India’ to ‘Bharat’ at the grass roots level.

You will find details of our projects in this section. Feel free to connect with us if you feel like volunteering for any of the projects

Swami Vivekanand had a great trust in the power of Youth. He believed Indian youth, being the harbinger of new ideas and great zeal, can toil very hard to take their motherland to newer heights. Hence VSMANDAL focuses on Youth Empowerment, makes them empowered to not only stand on their own feet but also lend a helping hand to fellow youth.

VSMANDAL currently focuses on i2i, IT-Innovating Technology Lab, Technology Center, Library and Study Center.

VSMANDAL aims to provide early, systematic assistance to underprivileged children who are subject to poor educational infrastructure. We seek to prevent academic failure through early intervention, frequent progress measurement, and increasingly intensive research-based instructional interventions for children who continue to learn in government or municipal administration run schools.

We aim to achieve this goal by imparting education to underprivileged children in urban neighborhoods via NALANDA Initiative and through education assistance via ZEP and UMANG initiatives in tribal / rural areas.
