"We want that education by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased, the intellectual is expanded & by which one can stand on one's feet."
UMANG (उमंग) means Hope, Aspiration. The underprivileged children from remoteareas hope support from Mandal for their education and we only aspire their progress in return which serves as a right kind booster for our efforts.This initiative is an unconditional investment into hopes of our tribal kids, for whom we fight all odds to fulfil their dreams.Hence, we named this initiative as Umang!
Swami Vivekananda had once said:
"Education is not the amount of information that is put into your brain and runs riot there, undigested, all your life. We must have life-building, man-making, character-making assimilation of ideas. If you have assimilated five ideas and made them your life and character, you have more education than any man who has got by heart a whole library."
This is exactly the type of education we aim to impart via our umang initiative.
Development of skills,attitude and character.
Develop a support system to the mainstream academics.
Develop a good rapport between children of villages and Mandal.
Overall development of personality.
To help children develop interest in learning.
Activity based learning – The focus is mainly on activity based learning along with academic learning.
Implement easy to understand methods- Use of games and activities to help them enjoy learning.
Interactive methods- Teaching method is not one to all but group discussion type method of teaching is adopted.
Our Karykatas visit every Sunday to Vihigaon for teaching students

Our Karyakartasare inspired by the vision of Swamiji and they leave no stone unturned to bring in reality the pious vision of:
|| तमसोमाज्योतिर्गमय ||
This vision is to provide these children an access to remove darkness around them and light the perennial lamp within to come out of poverty, illiteracy and achieve their true potential. There are close to 100 students who take benefit of Umang initiative during 2014-15.
